There are times when you don’t get enough support and this can cause some concern and needless worry.

Preparing for Dentures

Seventy-one year old Donald from London would have liked more advice.

‘I was very concerned about the procedure before I went in. Was it going to hurt? How would they look?’

Giving Eileen, 57 from Sheffield some idea of what to expect from her new life with dentures would have been really helpful to her.

‘Before my fitting I was concerned about how they would look. I imagined them looking ‘false’ and I was still concerned about problems eating. I must say I would also like to have been given some idea of what to expect at this stage of the process, but I wasn’t.’

Jane, 48 from Watford had some fear going in to get her tooth extracted.

‘I had my appointment for the fitting after work so I didn’t need to explain anything to anyone. I didn’t ask what to expect at this appointment. That’s probably why I was a bit scared going in, though I don’t remember it hurting.’
