I've got used to them, I can live with them.
Do you tell people about your dentures?
There’s still a little bit of it, I still don’t like people to know about it, not really, until they get to know me, until they know a bit more about me. But I’m not as conscious of them, because I’ve got used to them. I can live with them. I know how to handle, you know, the process of cleaning them and so on. So I’ve learnt to live with it.
Have you met other denture wearers?
I have actually, and it’s always like some little club, you know when you find out that somebody has dentures it’s like ‘oh, thank goodness, you know exactly what I’m like and how I feel about dentures’ because everybody can conspiratorially we all talk to each other and have the same kinds of issues and worries and problems.
What would you say to someone who has to get dentures?
Having dentures is preferable to having bad teeth and it’s much more preferable to having holes or gaps in your mouth, so if your teeth are prone to something, a problem, it’s not that bad actually.
How has Poligrip affected your life?
I wouldn’t go out – if they stopped making Poligrip I wouldn’t go out anymore because it makes me feels – or – I know that they would fall out if I didn’t have them, if didn’t have that there. It really does give me confidence. I can’t tell you how much confidence it does give me.
