Describe your experience

He had set aside time to help me, to try and give me the confidence that when I walked out of his dental surgery I was no different to when I first went in.

What information did you receive about your fitting?

I think at the time I would have wanted more because over probably the first two years I was playing at things trying different things, thinking that different things would have different affects.

What support did you get from your dentist?

The information that I had was strictly from the dentist and he did say, “When you go onto this you’re going to need to use a fixative all the time”.

How did you feel immediately after?

Because it had been a gradual replacement I was relieved that it was all over and you know now it was a straight forward one off situation, it was oral mouthwash cleansing of your gum and the dealing with your teeth.

Did you have any concerns?

I didn’t want people to know that I’d got a denture so a fixative was important, but also when I went to the dentist, every time I went I had a new palette made with the extra tooth on it and then when I went for the extraction, the tooth came out and the new palette went in because I was so embarrassed about having dentures.
